The Meath Foundation Research Symposium
The Meath Foundation has funded healthcare research within Tallaght University Hospital for over two decades. Our Research Symposium is an annual showcase of that research and an opportunity to share and promote excellence in Healthcare.
This year’s Research Symposium took place on Friday 29th November and looked at our research story so far, with a particular focus on Psychiatry and Endocrinology. The symposium explored the benefits and impact of researching healthcare within a hospital setting.
The panel format of the event invited discussion and sough to demonstrate the research journey for the Principal Investigator and/or the team, with a particular focus on early career researchers. The Symposium explored the impact of funding from the Meath Foundation in terms of additional research and improved outcomes for patients.
The keynote speaker, Prof Colm O’Morain, spoke to his experience of research and the impact that funding from organisations like the Meath Foundation can have for patients. In addition, the Meath Foundation Research Laboratory presented on its role within Tallaght University Hospital and in supporting researchers across a number of fields.
