Celebrating Excellence – Announcing Awards 2023

It is important for The Meath Foundation that we celebrate excellence in Healthcare. One of the ways this is achieved is through a series of awards. In 2023 the following were awarded:

  • Dr Jennifer Scott received the Colm O’Moráin Award, which is jointly supported by the Adelaide Health Foundation.
  • The Gerry Fitzpatrick Award for Non Consultant Hospital Doctor was awarded to Dr Hannah O’Keeffe (Innovation Registrar).
  • The Roisin Boland Medal was awarded to Carol Stephens.
  • Orla O’Keeffe & Doireann Deay (candidate Advanced Nurse Practitioners – Ambulatory Care, Adult ED) were joint recipients of the Mary O’Connor Medal & Travel Bursary for excellence in Emergency Medicine Nursing.
  • Suzanne Haugh (CNM2 Clinical Facilitator – Adult ED) was awarded ‘The Elizabeth O’Dwyer’ medal and bursary for their project “ED nurses introduction to simulation learning.”
  • Orla O’Keeffe & Doireann Deay (candidate Advanced Nurse Practitioners – Ambulatory Care, Adult ED) were awarded ‘The Mary O’Connor Medal & Bursary’ for their project “Introduction of an Advanced Nurse Practitioner delivered ambulatory care service in an Irish Emergency Department.”
  • The Meath Hospital Medal (Final Year TCD Medical Student) is awarded to the student achieving the highest score in the clinical component of the final medical examinations in both Clinical Medicine and Surgery. The 2022/23 medal was awarded to Isabel Waters.
  • The Meath Hospital Medal (Final Year TCD Nursing Student) is awarded to the TCD nursing student with the highest year mark awarded and passing their 4th year clinical placements on first attempt. The 2023 medal was awarded to Isabelle Reboul Geraghty.
