Board of Directors

The Board of Directors are collectively responsible for oversight of The Meath Foundation. They are volunteers who give their time to improve, protect and support the Foundation’s charitable activities through strategic development and good governance. They are guided by the Charities Regulator Governance Code. Some Directors are drawn from the membership of the Foundation, while others are co-opted so that the Board has a wide range of skills and experience to support the needs of the organisation.

Sibéal Carolan is the Chair of the Board. There are a further 14 Directors who are Kathleen Cass, Kevin Conlon, Gerry Fitzpatrick, Pat Flynn, Evonne Healy, Mary Hickey, David Kane, Martin Lyes, Fergal McAleavey, Aileen McCabe, Orla O’Brien, Dermot O’Flynn, Thomas Stone and Rea Walshe.

 

Committees that support the Board

The Finance, Audit & Risk Committee focusses on the efficient financial management of the Foundation, including the management of income, expenditure and investments. Kevin Conlon is the chair of the Committee, with members Kathleen Cass, Fergal McAleavey, Colm O’Morain and Thomas Stone.

The Governance & Nominating Committee supports the Board in fulfilling its responsibilities in relation to best governance practice. Rea Walshe is the chair of the Committee, with members Martin Lyes and Orla O’Brien.

The work of the Research, Education, Quality Improvement and Innovation Committee underpins 4 of the strategic themes of the Meath Foundation. These are Advancing Healthcare Research; Recognising and Promoting Excellence; Educating Future Healthcare Leaders and Promoting & Improving Quality of Care and Delivery. Gerry Fitzpatrick is the chair of the Committee, with members Pat Flynn, Evonne Healy and David Kane.

The Arts & Health Board Committee has oversight of the Foundation’s strategic theme Promoting Better Health through the Arts. Mary Hickey is the chair of the Committee, with members Michelle Boyle, Aileen McCabe, Dermot O’Flynn and Teresa Quinn.
