The Meath Foundation invite applications for the Elizabeth O’Dwyer Medal & Bursary for Innovation in Nursing and the Mary O’Connor Medal & Bursary for Excellence in Emergency Medicine.
The first award was established to honour Elizabeth O’Dwyer for her contribution to Nursing. Ms O’Dwyer was Matron/Director of Nursing at the Meath Hospital. She actively supported improving the education of nurses, promoting facilities for the on-going education of registered nurses and courses in specialised nursing.
The Mary O’Connor Medal & Bursary for Excellence in Emergency Medicine Nursing Award was established to commemorate the late Mary O’Connor. A passionate, dedicated and innovative Nurse she was instrumental in developing the Emergency Department at TUH and, in particular, the Nursing Service.
