Announcing Research Grant Recipients 2024

Research is the bridge that takes us from today’s good practice to tomorrow’s better practice. In our support for research at Tallaght University Hospital and its academic partner Trinity College Dublin, The Meath Foundation helps to build this bridge to the future locally, nationally and internationally.

Since 2002 the Foundation has awarded over €5.7 million to support 134 research grant projects. Since 2017 we have awarded €525,000 to support 7 research fellowships.

Our Research funding is aimed at supporting established researchers to help them to open up new channels of enquiry and explore areas based on their expertise and experience as well as supporting those who are early career or new to research with the aim to build the base of research activity in Tallaght University Hospital.

The following Meath Foundation Research Grants were awarded in 2024:

  • Dr Shane O’Brien for his research entitled: ‘Non-invasive Anti-inflammatory Neuromodulation using Splenic Ultrasound in Sarcoidosis’
