The Meath Foundation Research Symposium

The first annual Meath Foundation Research Symposium was held on Friday 30 March 2007. Mr Ron Grainger, Chairman of The Foundation's Research Sub-Committee, commenced proceedings with the formal awarding of research grants for 2006. The Foundation funded 5 projects and part-fund a further 3 projects. The successful applicants were:

Following these awards The Meath Foundation awardees (2005) made oral presentations on their research to date.

The Chairman, Mr Grainger, closed the proceedings with the announcement of research grant applications for 2007.

We wish to thank all our presenters for their contributions to this very successful day.

Research Grants 2007

Nineteen (19) Research Grant Applications were received in The Meath Foundation office by the closing date of 1st June 2007. These have now been sent to the external assessors for review. This year two grants each up to €60,000 two grants each up to €35,000 and one grant of up to €45,000 is available for research into Kidney Disease. The volume of applications received highlights the positive impact The Foundation is having on the promotion of Research within the Hospital.
